I immerse myself in the act of painting and move between chance and control. The duality of both destroying and creating is played out upon the surface of the canvas. I find much joy in the process of discovery and the infinite possibilities of the medium itself and just how powerfully evocative the act of mark making and bold brush marks can be.

I see the paintings as a form of poetry in the way they lend themselves to emotional expression. My work is a way accessing something genuine; something that goes beyond my own understanding or language.  It aims to unlock something that is always evolving and open with veiled and exposed glimpes that may speak of the repetition of nature and our place within it.
